Hillary Lister

As an advocate for small businesses, patient safety, and sustainable agriculture, Hillary Lister has played a key role in the development of local and state laws and department rules impacting cannabis businesses in Maine.
Hillary became a family member caregiver in 2004, providing medical cannabis topical salve and tincture to a family member with cancer, and from that point on became actively involved in advocating for good laws to protect patients and ensure access to safe medicine.
Hillary worked on the 2009 Citizen’s Initiative that led to the creation of Maine’s Medical Marijuana Program, and served as President of Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine from 2011 to 2014. Hillary continues to participate in State legislative, Department, and Municipal meetings on the Maine’s changing laws and rules governing cannabis producers.
Hillary has presented to the Tax Practitioner Institute on state and federal considerations for cannabis businesses. As faculty for the National Business Institute in 2019 and 2021, Hillary has developed presentations on Site Security, Zoning, and Top Operating Issues for Cannabis Businesses.
Hillary has worked with attorney Sharon for the past five years helping cannabis and hemp business ensure compliance with changing regulations, and successfully guiding clients through State and Municipal licensing and permitting approval processes.
